3 gallons of water per ton of Asphalt. Therefore, the estimated annual production of 150,000 Tons of asphalt
will require 1.38 AF of water each year during 2017 and 2018. Table 5 shows the estimated monthly
distribution of asphalt production and associated water uses.
Table 5
Estimated Concrete, Asphalt Production and Associated Water Depletions
Mined Material Loss from
Water Lost Loss from Loss from
- Concrete - - -concrete -Asphalt
Concrete AspLialt
Month Above Below Total Product in Washed Batch Batch Truck Production Production
GW GW Washing
(Tons) (Tons) (Tons) (AF) (CY) (AF) (AF) (Tons) (AF)
Jan 0 0 0 0.00 1,992 0.18 0.02 0 0.00
Feb 0 0 0 0.00 1,163 0.11 0.01 0 0.00
Mar 0 0 0 0.00 1,683 015 0.01 40 0.00
Apr 6,300 25,200 31,500 0.83 2,603 0.24 0.02 41 0.00
May 7,000 28,000 35,000 0.93 4,943 0.46 0.04 16,167 0.15
Jun 7,700 30,800 38,500 1.02 7,208 0.66 0.05 21,971 0.20
Jul 10,500 42,000 52,500 1 39 7,875 0.72 0.06 14,558 0.13
Aug 10,500 42,000 52,500 1.39 10,750 0.99 0.08 17,467 0.16
Sep 9,800 39,200 49,000 1.30 10,928 1.01 0.08 38,240 0.35
Oct 12,600 50,400 63,000 1.67 9,779 0.90 0.07 32,304 0.30
Nov 5,600 22,400 28,000 0.74 6,076 0.56 0.05 9,211 0.08
Dec 1 01 0 0 0.001 0 0.00 0.00 0 0.00
Total 1 70,0001 280,000 350,000 9.271 65,000 5.98 0.49 150,000 1.38
2.2.7 Water Losses due to Dust Control, Vehicle Washing, Indoor Uses, and Landscape Irrigation
Water used for dust control, vehicle washing, indoor uses, and landscape irrigation is metered. RESOURCE
estimated the amount of water required for these uses based upon water meter records available for the
2009-2016 period. Operations for dust control within MCR's roads are considered 100% consumptive.
RESOURCE estimated that losses due to dust control operations for 2017 and 2018 will total 4.75 AF per
year. Water consumption due to vehicle washing at MCR (different than concrete truck washing) was
estimated at 0.15 AF per year. The consumptive use of water utilized for indoor uses at Everist's office and
shop is estimated at 10%. Based upon historic records of indoor water uses, depletions corresponding to
indoor water uses are estimated at 0.05 AF per year. Lastly, the consumptive use of water utilized for
landscape irrigation is estimated to average 1.83 AF per year. Landscape irrigation consists of a 0.25-acre
lawn, irrigated by sprinklers, and approximately 0.75 acres of trees watered by a drip-irrigation system.
Table 6 displays the estimated monthly distribution of these water depletions for 2017 and 2018.
2.2.8 Well Permits Associated with Project Consumptive Uses
As required in the General Guidelines for SWSP, Everist holds the well permits necessary for its MCR
operation. On January 19, 2017 a gravel pit well permit application was submitted to the Division of Water
Resources to add dewatering as an authorized use(copy of the application is included in Attachment D).
6 HINRESOURCE
