EXHIBIT A LEGAL DESCRIPTION <br /> The site is approximately 13.5 miles south of Monte Vista, CO; 13.6 miles southwest of <br /> Alamosa. CO; and 6.8 miles north of Capulin at an elevation of 7730 feet. The property is <br /> bounded by rangeland to the north, west, and south with irrigated cropland to the east. The <br /> Alamosa County Pit No. 1 is directly north of the Garrett Pit. The property is located along the <br /> eastern most extent of the alluvial fans originating from the San Juan Mountains to the west. The <br /> northeastern corner of the property is adjacent to the junction of County Road 9 and County <br /> Road EE, the main access road to the site. County Road DD is parallel to the southern edge of <br /> the permit boundary. A legal description is shown on Map C-1 that is included in Appendix 2. A <br /> general location map is enclosed as Map B-1. <br /> The total permit area is 80.0 acres. This amendment serves to add an additional 560.0 acres to <br /> create a final permit area of 640.0 acres. <br /> 1. Legal Description <br /> A tract of land including and located within the entire Section 9 Township 36 North, Range 8 <br /> East of the New Mexico Principal Meridian, County of Conejos, State of Colorado.
