Topsoil and Overburden Handling <br /> Variable topsoil thicknesses ranges from 0 to localized 18 inch thick zones, 2.5 inches is the <br /> anticipated average for the site dominant topsoil profile of 0-5 inches. An average to maximum <br /> of 4 feet of overburden can be found on site; however, some areas have no discernable <br /> overburden. Both topsoil and overburden are used on site for reclamation of mined out areas. In <br /> the event that the Garrett Pit needs to store topsoil, overburden, or waste fines in a berm, material <br /> piles will be either within the foot print of the current pit or along the perimeter edges of the site. <br /> Topsoil stockpiles will be constructed to 2H:1 V slopes and overburden piles will have 0.5H:1 V <br /> slopes; all stockpiles heights will be < 10 feet. To prevent erosion of stockpiles, within 180 days <br /> of establishment piles will be seeded with yellow sweet clover. <br /> The anticipated topsoil to be removed and stockpiled in undisturbed future mining areas amounts <br /> to 170,400 CY. Partially vegetated berms of overburden and waste fines exists in the western <br /> edges of the northern and southern perimeters of the current site. These berms contains 10 CY. <br /> The anticipated overburden in all unmined areas to be removed and stockpiled beneath the <br /> topsoil discussed prior totals to 3,278,300 CY. These are estimates based on the soils report and <br /> existing operations as of November 2017. <br /> 5. Schedule of Operations <br /> Mining operations will occur Monday through Saturday during daylight hours and intermittently <br /> during the life of the operation. Mining, screening and processing will be conducted with <br /> portable equipment at various times of the year. Product will be sold throughout the year, <br /> although little is expected to be sold in winter months. Night gravel mining will not occur; <br /> although minor truck activity or repairs may occur after daylight hours. Mining and processing <br /> will take place no more than 12 hours per day, during daylight hours. Monday through Saturday. <br /> Hauling will take place from 7 am to 7 pm Monday through Saturday. <br /> 6.
