EXHIBIT "D"
MINING PLAN
6.4.4 The Mining Plan is for a 112 Conversion Permit Application:
(a) Description of the methods of mining in each stage of the operation as related
to any surface disturbance on affected lands:
The proposed expansion to a 112 Regular Mining Operation will be an intermittent
mining operation, mining less than 180 days per year, in a typical year. However, due to
County project needs, the operation may, on occasion, operate more than 180 in any
given year.
Mining methods will be consistent throughout the life of this mining operation. This will
be an open pit mining operation. The post mining reclamation plan is to return the site to
rangeland.
Topsoil will be stripped and stockpiled for use during reclamation. If there is any excess
overburden, it may be sold or given away.
This will be a dry mining operation since excavation operations will occur above the
regional ground water table. Primarily, scraper(s), front-end loader(s), excavator(s) and
haul trucks or other similar equipment will remove the topsoil, overburden and aggregate.
Material may be immediately sold, or placed in stockpile(s) (up to 3,000 tons).
Other Equipment
Equipment Type:
Screens for sizing And other equipment as may be necessary
for efficient pit and processing operations
Scales for truck weights
Topsoil and overburden, if any, will be placed in stockpiles until needed for site
reclamation. Processing(crushing and screening) of the excavated material will occur as
needed. Any processing which might occur will be by portable equipment, brought onto
the site, and will be placed in a mined out area of the pit. The Pre-mine/Mine Plan Map
provides the locations of topsoil stockpiles during the initial phases. Topsoil from Phase
A-1 and A-2 will be stockpiled into adjacent Phase B topsoil stockpiles. Topsoil from
Phase A-3 will be placed adjacent to Phase A-1 for its reclamation. As each new phase is
initiated, topsoil will be cycled to a previous mined and graded phase for phase
22
