Ralston Quarry <br /> Golden,Colorado <br /> • Perform geotechnical laboratory testing to evaluate relevant engineering characteristics of <br /> the materials encountered in the test holes and collected during mapping. Laboratory <br /> testing will include index property tests (moisture content, density, Atterberg limits and <br /> grain size analysis)as well as direct shear strength testing. <br /> • Analyze the results of the field and laboratory studies to develop geotechnical conclusions <br /> to reduce the likelihood of soils displaced by slope failures from moving beyond the site <br /> boundaries. In this regard, we will consider the slopes to the north and south of the failed <br /> area where overburden material was placed, as well as the failed area itself. <br /> Remedial approaches will be developed with the object of working towards a factor of <br /> safety against slope failure of at least 1.2. <br /> The area where the material excavated from the failure was placed will analyzed as well. <br /> • Prepare a report summarizing the data obtained, and present our conclusions and <br /> geotechnical design parameters. An electronic copy (.pdf format) of the report will be <br /> provided. Hard/paper copies are available upon request. <br /> • Field Mapping <br /> • Installation of Temp. Monitoring & Obs.
