Roura
ENGINEERING
August 16, 2018
Subject: Proposal for Professional Services,
Slope Stability Evaluation, Ralston Quarry,
Golden, Colorado
Proposal No. 1807-1305 Revised
Stan Opperman
Asphalt Paving Company
14802 W. 441h Avenue
Golden, Colorado 80403
Dear Mr. Opperman:
GROUND Engineering Consultants, Inc. (GROUND) is pleased to submit a proposal to conduct
a slope stability evaluation of an area of the slope on the western side of the ridge at
Asphalt Paving Company's Ralston Quarry in Golden, Colorado. We understand that a portion
of the slope approximately 3 to 4 acres in area failed displacing soil down the slope and a limited
distance onto adjacent property.
Based on our experience with similar projects, we propose the following:
Scone of Service
• Perform reconnaissance level geologic mapping of the subject slope to evaluate the
nature of the failure. Samples of the site soils will be collected for laboratory analysis.
• Notify UNCC of our proposed temporary groundwater observation hole locations so that
public utilities may mark their lines near them.
• Drill 5, approximately 25-foot test holes and complete them as temporary, monitoring and
observation holes. We will notify CDPHE of our "intention to install" them. If the holes are
to become permanent, we assume that Asphalt Paving Company will make appropriate
adjustments to the structures and register them with that agency.
41 Inverness Drive East I Englewood, CO 80112 1 (303)289-1989 1 www.groundeng.com
ENGLEWOOD I COMMERCE CITY I LOVELAND I GRANBY I GYPSUM
