Ouray Silver Mines Inc.
Technical Revision 10 August 14, 2018
5. Configure treatment system within Ponds—materials placement
6. Install Outfall 002A and trouble shoot system —expected in 2019
7. Construction reclamation, reseeding, fencing—may extend into 2020
5.2 Groundwater Monitoring Well Installation
Groundwater monitoring well installation will be completed by a contractor following approval
from the State Engineer and the Division of Water Resources, immediately following
construction of Pond #3.
5.3 Diesel Tank Relocation
Heavy equipment will be used to move the diesel tank to its new location west of the
Administrative area.
6 Operation
The anticipated operation of each of the components is presented in this section.
6.1 Five Stage Passive Treatment System
The system will be operated according to the modified permit (C00000003) specifications under
a compliance order on consent. The sampling requirements include continuous flow and
temperature monitoring, bi-weekly sampling for potentially dissolved metals, and quarterly
samples for total metals and whole effluent toxicity. Details can be found in the included Permit
Issuance Appendix.
6.2 Groundwater Monitoring Well Installation
This new well GW-4, along with existing Wells GW-IA, GW 1-13, GW-2A, GW-213, GW-3R,
and GW-313 (Table 1), will be monitored quarterly for the groundwater parameter list as
established in TR-09 (Table-2). Should samples taken prior to the pond filling with water exceed
current groundwater standards, the groundwater standards will be revisited. Please note that
sampling at MWP Inlet was found to be dangerous since sampling equipment has not been
moved from Outfa11001A; and therefore, sampling is no longer being performed at the location
and has been moved upstream to the portal at UG-5 (Map 1, Table 1).
6.3 Diesel Tank Relocation
The new location of the C-1 diesel tank will ease congestion, improving access and safety, and it
will be located distal to the reagent building. No other operational changes are anticipated.
7 Reclamation
In accordance with DRMS permit M2012-032, disturbed areas will be back filled with native
material or waste rock, as appropriate. Surfaces will be revegetated according to the final
reclamation plan at the time of closure.
7.1 Five stage Passive Treatment System
Any construction occurring on site related to the five-stage passive treatment will utilize the
appropriate storm water control measures. Upon final reclamation, the passive treatment system
5
