The following text and attached photos
and documentation describe in detail how the concerns were addressed.
Problem: Improper storage and containment of fuels and/or other hazardous
materials was present onsite.
Specifically, three totes containing new hydraulic and motor oil were stored in an
area with no secondary containment structures. In addition, used oil was stored
in drums with no secondary containment.
Solution:
Moores Mining has purchased and installed new storage containers for both new
and used oil. To store the new oil, three Roth Industries EcoDWT Plus 3 Double
Wall Tanks (Model DWT 1000L) were installed into a storage/shipping container.
These tanks are double wall tanks with leak detection meeting DRMS
requirements for storage of oil.
The oil drums containing the used oil have been removed from the site and a
double wall tank constructed specifically for storage of flammable fluids will be
used instead. Again, this tank meets DRMS requirements for storage of oil.
Pictures of the tanks purchased and installed for both new and used oil are
included in Attachment A.
Problem: A fuel spill has occurred at the site which has impacted soils, surface
water or groundwater.
