r
Transit Mix Concrete Co.
444 E. Costilla Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 Office: (719) 475-0700 Fax: (719) 475-0226
• The final step, following broadcast seeding, the area will be lightly raked to bury the side.
We will be careful to not expose any additional liner. If we do, it will be removed and properly
disposed of. All work, with the exception of placement of the berm material on the area of the
colored soil, will be hand labor. If space permits, we may use a small tracked skidder or bobcat
like equipment to move the berm on to the interior slope. If there is not sufficient operating
space, the berm will be moved down the slope by hand.
The following seed mix is from the 1988 Amendment:
Water Supply Pond Seed Mix (broadcast):
Species
Variety
Scientific Name
PLS
lbs./acre
Intermediate wheatgrass
Luna
Thinopyrtrnr intermedium
4.0
Slender wheatgrass
San Luis
Elymus trachycauhrs
5.0
Streambank wheatgrass
Secar
Elymus lanceolatus
3.0
Pubescent wheatgrass
Luna
Thinopyrunt intermediunt spp.
bat-hulatum
4.0
Western wheatgrass
Rosana
Pascopyrum sntithii
4.0
Blue grama
-
Bouteloua gracilis
0.5
Sideoats grama
-
Bouteloua ctn•tipendtda
2.0
Russian wildrye
Bozoisky lI
Psathymstachys junceus
1.5
Yellow sweetclover
_
_
_
Total:
24.0
The reclamation plan also includes trees and shrubs. However, we propose to only include
Rocky Mountain juniper, mountain mahogany and Nanking cherry. The approved reclamation
plan does not specify the amount of PLS or if bare rootstock is to be planted. We will seed 1.0
PLS lbs. of each of these in the seed mix.
Once we are in full site reclamation, the pond areas which do not meet DRMS standards will be
reclaimed according to the approved reclamation plan detailed in the 1994 Amendment, and any
subsequent permit revisions.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Respectfully,
.
Brandon Heser
Aggregate Production Manager
Transit Mix Concrete Co.
