Black Canyon), Permit No. M-1977-210; Corrective Action Response
to the March 21, 2018 Inspection Report.
Dear Mr. Cazier:
Transit Mix Concrete Co., on behalf of Continental Materials Corporation, is responding to the
corrective actions listed in your March 21, 2018 Inspection Report. The proposed corrective
action for the Snyder Quarry Water Supply Pond is detailed below:
INSPECTION TOPIC: Reclamation Success
PROBLEM/POSSIBLE VIOLATION: Problem No. 2: The water storage pond added for the rock wash plant as part
of amendment 2 (AM -02) is in poor condition due to lack of maintenance, with the liner torn and ineffective.
CORRECTIVE ACTIONS: Reclaim the water storage pond as approved by the Division in Amendment 4. Provide
photographic evidence of removing the liner prior to any backfill placement, followed by photographs of
achieving final grades, and seed tags for the revegetation effort or if appropriate, a schedule for later seeding in
2018 by the corrective action due date.
CORRECTIVE ACTION DUE DATE: 6/19/18
(The Division, at the request of TMCC, extended the corrective action date to the 20`" of
August.)
Proposed Corrective Action Response:
The corrective actions specified by the DRMS included removal of the exposed pond liner. As
noted in previous correspondence to the DRMS, that task has been completed.
The corrective actions for the Water Supply Pond also included stabilization of the Pond's
interior slopes. The corrective actions will begin around mid-September. Figure 1 depicts the
treatment areas in the pond.
• The first task will be to rough up the colored soil area on the north side of the pond.
Since this will be a hand labor task, they may not be able to reach all the area due to
excessive, slippery slopes.
• Step two will be to grade::push the small berm of material over the colored soil area.
• Step three will be to rough up other areas of the interior pond slope which are hard or
compacted.
• The fourth step will be to broadcast the following seed mix on to the interior slopes.
