Installation of the slurry wall occurred between April and August, 2007. The
approval/testing process began with submittal of a proposed leak test procedure and data collection on
December 11, 2009. This process also included a site visit on January"11, 2010 by Jana Ash of the SEO.
You provided the results of the 90 day test in an engineering report dated July,.2010. The estimated slurry
wall enclosed area inflows from precipitation and groundwater during the test indicate that this pit has
been lined to the performance standard referenced in the August 1999 State Engineer Guidelines for
Lining Criteria for Gravel Pits. Meeting the performance standard requires that all water inflows and
outflows for this slurry wall enclosed area must be accounted for on a weekly basis.
Although this site is not currently being used for water storage, prior to ANY use of this site for water
storage, the owner or operator will need to coordinate with the District 2 Water Commissioner, currently
Scott Edgar, to provide him with the required weekly water accounting.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
David L.
