2018 Arnold Pit 112
f. water information—this operation is not expected to directly affect surface or
groundwater systems.
g. owner of structures and types— There are no structures within 200'.
h. soils information— see Exhibit C- Pre-mining and Mining Plan Map 3 of 4 Soils.
i. aerial photo— see Exhibit C- Pre-mining and Mining Plan Map 4 of 4 Aerial.
6.4.4 EXHIBIT D—Mining Plan
a. Method of mining— Mining will commence in 2018. A dozer, loader and/or
trucks will be used to push, load and haul topsoil to the topsoil stockpile. Depth of
the topsoil ranges from 1-12 inches. 1-12 inches of topsoil will be removed and
segregated. This stockpile will be kept safe from damage and contamination from
mining activities by isolating it away from these activities. After the topsoil is
relocated, the dozer and loader will commence to excavate material (pit run). The
loader will dump the pit run into the hopper that feeds the crusher or screen,
dumping onto the flat belt(s) that dump(s) into trucks or onto a stacking conveyor
that dumps the processed material on to the processed material stockpile. A
contractor may process this pit run in a similar manner.
b. Earthmoving— earth moving will commence in the southern portion of the pit,
moving northerly.
c. Water diversions and impoundments—water diversions and impoundments will
be constructed only to prevent storm water runoff. The size of the diversion/berm
will be approximately 1- 1 1/2 feet in height, a typical motor grader moldboard's
height. The location of the diversion/berm will be approximately 5 feet inside the
permit boundary where existing slopes allow, further inside if necessary. Storm
water will be allowed to evaporate naturally or will be filtered prior to exiting the
site.
d. Size of area to be worked at any one time—app. 39 acres.
e. Appr. time table to describe the mining operation—if everything goes as planned,
we'll commence earthmoving, in the southern portion of this pit, in 2018 followed
shortly by processing the material. We'll reclaim excavated sites, if area and
sequences allow, as we excavate different areas using the most recent excavated
materials to reclaim previously excavated areas.
i. Estimated time for each stage—the entire excavation of the site should take
appr. 20 years from the day of commencement. The reclamation should start
within 4,1 year of the ceasing of mining activities and should be completed
within 5 years.
ii. Description of size and location—we're anticipating the size to be app. 39
acres and the location to be the same during this phase of excavation.
iii. Sequence of each stage or phase—The stripping of the topsoil phase will
commence prior to crews and/or contractor(s) starting the processing phase.
Once enough material is processed, the hauling of processed material from
the site will commence and be placed on surrounding County roads. We're
anticipating the stripping phase will commence in 2018. Estimated time for
each phase will depend on material demand but the stripping phase should
Arnold Pit Page'_of 23
