HARD ROCK/ METAL MINING
LIMITED IMPACT OPERATION (110(2))
RECLAMATION PERMIT APPLICATION
For the Ten Percenter Claim (CMC254209)
M-
BLM CMC254209
USFS File Code 2810
USFS 2810-021210-MPO 2018-004
6.3.2 EXHIBIT B
Site Description
Introduction:
The areas affected by the proposed surface disturbance all lie within the bounds of the Ten
Percenter Lode Mining Claim (BLM CMC254209). Please refer to 6.3.1 Exhibit A—for the
location of the Ten Percenter Claim. The site is generally characterized by moderately
rolling terrane covered with irregular, locally dense pine, spruce, and aspen groves
interspersed with meadows of grasses, shrubs, and forbs. There are no wetlands or riparian
areas on the Ten Percenter Claim or within 200 feet of its boundary.
Three main areas on the claim have been previously disturbed by prior operators using
mechanized equipment exploring for mineral specimens in the period 1972 through 1999,
as well as numerous hand dug pits. These three primary areas of prior exploration by
mechanized equipment include the Upper Pit or Cut, Middle Pit or Cut, and Lower Pit or
Cut. The areas are shown on the maps comprising portions of 6.3.5 Exhibit E—Maps.
Additionally, a copy of a brief report (Wobus, R. A., Finnemore, S., and Smith, D.; Geology of
the Ten Percenter Pegmatite Mine, Lake George District, Teller County, Colorado, in Holden,
G. S., ed., Field Trip Guidebook, Geological Society of America 1888-1988 Centennial
Meeting, Denver, Colorado, Colorado School of Mines Professional Contributions No. 12, p.
43-46.) is attached as documentation and evidence of some of the previous work by others.
These areas have been partially reclaimed or partially self-reclaimed. A Reclamation Bond is
still being held by either the USFS or DRMS for the reclamation work that was performed
and released in 2000.
The disturbance proposed in this Limited Impact Operation 110(2) Reclamation Permit
application and related USFS Plan of Operations (USFS Poo 092815, as revised) will cover
many of the prior hand-excavated areas and as a result of re-excavation,those areas will be
reclaimed. Within the proposed Affected/Permit Area of 9.10 acres are four, new trench
and dump areas which may be excavated over the term of the permit (totaling 4.275 acres).
All of these areas fall entirely within the Proposed Affected Area of 9.10 acres which is set
Reclamation Permit Application for Ten Percenter Claim BLM CMC254209
USFS File Code 2810,USFS MPO-2018-004
