(1) (c) (iv)
An application rate of 20.0 pounds PLS per acre is suggested; however, a final application rate
will be determined at the time of seed purchase. Seed will be spread using a broadcast
spreader.
Soil will be prepared for seed by light furrowing after final contouring is completed. Final
contouring will be done immediately before seeding to ensure a good, aerated seed bed. If the
soil has become compacted, it will be re -raked to properly prepare the soil.
6.3.4. (1) (c) (v)
The use of special mulch is not anticipated. The planting medium/soils, while thin, are rich in
forest floor duff (partially decomposed plant litter and evergreen needles). This material will
act as a natural mulch to retain moisture and promote seed germination.
6.3.4. (1) (c) (vi)
Trees, shrubs, and forbs are not typically required for an operation of the size contemplated in
this application, per communications with DRMS and USFS.
6.3.4. (1) (d)
No ponds, streams, or buildings, will be built or utilized for the proposed work.
Access roads and trails will be constructed or used as summarized in 6.3.3 (1) (f). Locations of
these access features are depicted in the attached Exhibit E — Maps. Only those roads approved
by the USFS will be left for future access (primarily USFS Road 201). Other access routes used
will be reclaimed (recontoured, scarified and seeded, or simply seeded) as required by the USFS
in Plan of Operations 092815 and accompanying Design Criteria which are attached to this
application.
6.3.4. (1) (e)
No waste rock or dumps will remain on the sites after excavation and reclamation. Waste rock
will be used to backfill the excavations from which it came.
