This groundwater lake is
anticipated to be roughly 10 acres in size. Map E-1 shows this.
Additional bond will be needed to cover the dewatering of a further 6 acres of pit, since the
Phase 3 mining area will have to dewater both the backfillable area and the eventual lake area.
No additional bonding will be needed for topsoiling or revegetation, as the bond from Phases I
and 2 covers 20.5 acres, which is more than sufficient to encompass the above lake level areas of
Phase 3.
Table I shows the bond calculations for all of the phases. Phases 1 and 2 have been combined, as
the current activity on site has disturbed areas in both phases. Phase 3 is calculated separately as
the additional dewatering cost that will be needed.
Table 1 — Worst Case Reclamation Costs
In addition to posting the additional bond needed for Phase 3 at the time it begins, United will
provide DRMS with the proof of long-term water availability to cover the lake to be left behind
in reclamation. Mining activity will be limited, until Phase 3, to 20.5 acres of total disturbance,
and 10 acres of total active pit excavated. The total overall disturbance will 35.7 acres, including
all mining and stockpile areas. The phasing shown on the Map C-2 that was submitted in the TR -
1 application is the new phasing layout.
The current bond for this site is $423,680. An additional $97,869 of bond will need to be posted.
Deftaque Sand and Gravel 2 wi:pF4a1/Iu[it,, - "I JCC,
