Exhibit C—Mining Plan
Please reference the following with respect to the required information section 6.3.3 Exhibit C—Mining
Plan;
(a) Mining on the site appears to have started historically circa 1930.There is evidence of previous
mining activity in the form of an old trammel still onsite, prospect excavations, cobble piles, etc.
The current claim was purchased from a private individual in 2010 and prospecting/mining has
been done on a limited basis since that time.Work at the claim is typically only by one or two
individuals(claim owner and/or family and friends)for only 1 or 2 days per week(estimate 4 to
8 hours total per week). This work has been ongoing and due to the limited hours being worked
there is presently no estimate upon an end date for the operation.
Operations are presently limited to digging with hand tools(shovels, picks, bars, etc.) between
20 feet and 100 feet from the South bank of the Arkansas River on the inside edge of a river
bend at approximately the center of the mining claim. The material present is sand, gravel,
rocks, and boulders. Upon excavation some of this material (sand and gravel) is then washed by
panning, sluicing,or highbanking to find native gold. Waste material (rocks, boulders, washed
fines, etc.) are piled adjacent to the excavation or places in areas presently being reclaimed. See
also maps in Exhibit E.
(b) Soil suitable for plant growth exists from 4 to 12 inches deep in the areas being excavated.
Presently the topsoil is removed and is stockpiled directly adjacent to the excavation along a
small berm. Please note that the current excavation is proceeding more in a vertical direction
than a horizontal direction, and the result is that there is very little topsoil presently being
disturbed. As noted in the original plan of operations(see copy attached in Exhibit F), "Topsoil
will be conserved by stockpiling it and seeding it to prevent erosion". The existing stockpiles
were originally seeded as described however that vegetation has since been replaced with
native vegetation.
(c) As described in Exhibit B, below the topsoil level is a mixture of cobbles, gravels, rocks, and
boulders. There is not a well-defined "overburden" as native gold has been noted in all levels of
the excavation below the topsoil. Presently bedrock has not been located at the site and the
existing active excavation (see Exhibit E) is approximately 15 feet deep.
(d) The thickness of the deposit being processed (washed gravel) is presently unknown. The existing
excavation is approximately 15 feet deep and has not reached bedrock or groundwater.
(e) There are no mining operation structures at the site (offices, maintenance buildings, etc.). The
BLM has approved a "tool locker"to be placed onsite in the last Plan of Operation approval, and
it is located outside the active mine area (minimum 100 feet from the Arkansas River). There is
also an ATV trail that is maintained by the claim owner which runs parallel to the Arkansas River
and provides access to the site. See also site maps in Exhibit A.
(f) See Exhibit E.
