Mr. Basil Bear assisted in locating mine
records. Basil had a confilct for accompanying the inspector in the field, so the inspector conducted the field
inspection alone.

The weather was dry and windy. The mine site was very dry. No significantly measuable precipitation has fallen
in the valley for an extended period of time. The vegetion on the reclaimed area is very dry and some is already
browning up. The upper portions of the reclaimed mine were excessively bug infested with grasshoppers and
blister beetles.
AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS – Rule 5.02.4(1):
Mine records were verified at the Bowie No. 2 Mine office on the afternoon of 6/12. The onsite
inspection was conducted the following day.

All records were in order and available for review.

HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10;
Diversions 4.05.4; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
All ponds at the East Mine and ROM have been reclaimed. Bowie Resources use straw mats to stabilize
the reclaimed surface until the perennial vegetation becomes established on the reclaimed pond areas.

Reclamation of Pond 1 remains good. Straw mats remain well anchored, although there is a separation between
two mats on the west slope. There was no evidence of undercutting of the mat at this time. Perennial vegetation is
beginning to emerge through the straw mats along with annual species. Noxious weeds were not noted on the
reclaimed pond area. (photo 6)

Reclaimed pond 2 remains in good condition with vegetation emerging through the well anchored straw mats.
