Gt.
E STATE OF
COLORADO Scott -DNR, Eric <eric.scott@state.co.us>
res
FW: Updated Derr Pit Exhibit L and C-3 Map
Eric Scott -DNR <eric.scott@state.co.us> Thu, Jun 14, 2018 at 3:47 PM
To: JC York<jcyork@j-tconsulting.com>
JC-
in the interest of expediting the approval of this amendment, I'm going to email you with any remaining adequacy issues
that I come across so that you may formulate a response... If you like I will follow with a summary letter.
So far-
1 - Still need to identify property ownership and ownership of permanent structures (oil/gas facilities) in the parcel internal
to the permit area (west center). Also need to make sure they are addressed in Exhibit S as well..
2- please remove any reference to water handling infrastructure to be placed in reservoirs after permit release from
reclamation plan.. If, in the future, the structures currently discussed are required to be installed prior to permit release a
technical revision will be required..
3- need a sampling plan to establish baseline water chemistry and provide data to demonstrate compliance with GW
standards. DRMS will determine if continued monitoring is required after reviewing baseline data.
4-groundwater level triggers will need to be determined based on deviation from pre mining baseline average water level
data, not on data from the previous year(s) that may lead to cumulative impacts prior to mitigation.. please revise.
4a- monthly water levels should be measured from here out to the hundredth of a foot below the survey reference
elevation (industry standard).. It would also appear that the well reference elevations were only surveyed to the nearest
tenth of a foot? Resurvey will be required to the standard hundredth of a foot for this data going forward. please confirm..
4b- DRMS will require standard monitoring well construction diagrams for all MW that were previously installed on site.
depth of well, screened interval, casing type, sand pack interval, seal type, etc...)
5- both proposed reclamation plans show the northern reservoir containing existing utilities and what appears to be a
ditch.. The mining plan shows they will be relocated at some point.. Have agreements already been reached to relocate
these features? Who owns the ditch? the ditch should be included in the structures exhibit unless it is fully owned by
Broken Arrow..
Thanks,
Eric Scott
Environmental Protection Specialist, P.G., R.G.
DNR COLORADO
CODivision of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety
P 303.866.3567 x 8140 I F 303.832.8106
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203
eric.scott@state.co.us www.mining.state.co.us
Quoted text hidden]
