EXHIBIT D MINING PLAN <br /> 1. General Mining Plan <br /> The property boundary has been surveyed on site and the permit area will be surveyed prior to <br /> any site disturbance. Map C-1 shows the Mining plan. <br /> The gravel zone is estimated to be 45 feet thick in an alluvial deposit and is overlain by 8-12 <br /> inches of topsoil and variable of overburden at its deepest areas. The deposit consists of over 60 <br /> feet of Pleistocene gravel-bearing terrace alluvium and is underlain by the Holocene-Pleistocene <br /> Residuum on Cretaceous Mancos Shale. Mining will progress from south to north and will <br /> exclude the eastern rise. Map F-1 shows the Reclamation plan with the eastern rise intact. <br /> In general, the new area will be mined by first excavating 8-12 inches of topsoil and underlying <br /> variably thick overburden with scrapers, front end loaders, and dump trucks. Overburden is <br /> averaged to be 14 feet thick and consisting of variable compositions of sandy to cobbley to <br /> bouldery clay loam. Topsoil and overburden will be stockpiled and used to backfill the slopes of <br /> mined out areas to a 3H:1 V slope during Reclamation as shown on Map F-1. To prevent erosion <br /> of the topsoil and overburden stockpiles, piles will be seeded within 180 days of establishment <br /> with the rangeland seed mix. Stockpiles will be constructed to 2H:1 V slopes for topsoil and <br /> 0.5H:1 V slopes for overburden with heights no greater than 10 feet. <br /> After overburden is removed, gravel mining will reach existing pit depths of approximately 45 <br /> feet below the ground surface and a final approximate elevation of 7,240 feet. Two lifts of <br /> extraction have occurred across the Fetcher Vale Pit, and this will continue. Maximum active <br /> highwall will be 50 feet tall and 600 feet long. The Fetcher Vale Pit mines using a 0.5H:1 V to <br /> near vertical slope on active mining faces. <br /> The raw gravel material will then be loaded into a portable crusher/screen plant where various <br /> sizes of product will be made and placed in separate stockpiles. Maximum processing is <br /> approximately 3,000 tons per day. The crushing operation and processed stockpile locations <br /> may change during the mine life as mining proceeds across the mining area. Dozers may also be <br /> used to move topsoil/overburden or gravel. <br /> Fetcher Vale Pit <br /> May 2018 D-1 <br />
