§2.05 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOR SURFACE OR UNDERGROUND MINING
• ACTIVITIES -MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATION AND
RECLAMATION PLANS.
2.05.4 Reclamation Plan.
(2)(a) (Cont'd)
Reclamation of the West Mine water pipeline was completed
following construction during the Fall, 1986 and Spring, 1987.
Where the pipeline trench was located along a graveled portion of
the jeep trail, gravel was replaced over the area. Un-graveled
areas were vegetated.
II. Final Reclamation and Abandonment Program
Interim reclamation was ongoing throughout the life of the West
Mine project, as discussed above. Upon completion of mining
activities, all equipment, buildings, conveyors, etc. were removed
from the landscape. All areas of disturbance were cleaned of
debris, graded, and vegetated. Reclamation was conducted in
accordance with lease stipulations of the Bureau of Land
Management and in compliance with all applicable State and
• Federal laws and regulations.
The anticipated schedule for final abandonment upon completion
of all mining activities will be:
1. Complete demolition and disposal of buildings within
approximately six months with another six months added for
maximum economic recovery;
2. Excavation, backfilling, and compaction in two construction
seasons; and,
3. Approximately three months of final grading, drainage
control, and vegetation during the fall of the year to maximize
plant growth. A schedule for final abandonment is contained on
Figure 2.05-5 in the Final abandonment Appendix, Volume 6A.
•
TR-48 59 04/08
