On May 24, 2018, CC&V received Preliminary Adequacy
Review comments from the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety's (DRMS). Please see
the responses below to address the outstanding adequacy concerns, DRMS' comments in italics
with Newmont's response to comments in bold.
1) Overall slopes: The third bullet on page 3 addresses bench widths and ore slopes specifically for the
100 foot lift thickness. However the first bullet on p. 3 limits the lift thickness to 50 feet for ROM with
a D.100 greater than three inches. Please address the four conditions under the third bullet for these
50 foot lifts.
a. On ore slope against up-sloping ground is 1.6(H):1(V), a bench with a minimum
width of 10' is required between the crest of the lower lift and the toe of the new
lift.
b. Ore Slopes against down-sloping ground is 2.5(H):1(V), a bench with a minimum
width of 55' is required between the crest of the lower lift and the toe of the new
lift.
