Miranda Kawcak, <br />mine representatives and Jennifer Johnson, intern, were present throughout the inspection. The weather was clear. <br /> <br />INSPECTION: <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE: <br />Main haul roads and access roads were dry. No offsite air quality issues or hydrologic impacts were <br />observed at the time of inspection. Vegetation sampling and a phase II bond release are under discussion <br />for the narrow northern strip of the permit for 2018. Reclamation and vegetation appeared in good condition. <br /> <br /> <br />ROADS Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3), 4.03.2(3); Drainage 4.03.1(4), 4.03.2(4); Surfacing and Maintenance 4.03.1(5) <br />and (6) 4.03.2(5) and (6). <br />o <br />o Roads in and around the facilities appeared in good condition and functioning adequately. <br />o No fugitive dust was noted. <br />o No rutted areas or standing water were noted. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE- Rule 4.05 <br />General Requirements 4.05.1; Effluent Standards 4.05.2; Divergence and Conveyance of Overland <br />Flow 4.05.3;Diversions 4.05.4; Sediment Control Measures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7; <br />Impoundments 4.05.9; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Underground Mine Entry 4.05.10; Surface <br />and Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13;Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> <br />The following ponds were visited: Pond 11, 12 A, 12, 13 and 14. Unless noted below, spillways appeared <br />in good repair, with flumes functioning correctly, pond banks appeared stable, exhibiting established <br />vegetation. <br /> <br />o Pond 11, located at north area entrance discharges most of the year. The majority of the mine <br />drains to this pond. The pond was discharging with about 2 inches of water visible on the stage
