EXHIBIT G
WATER INFORMATION
It is the operator' s intent to minimize the disturbances to the
prevailing hydrologic balance of the affected land, of the
surrounding areas and to the quality and quantity of the surface
and ground water system, both during and after mining and recla-
mation. The permit area is currently covered by Valco, Ines .
Substitute Water Supply Plan and well permit for the mine . Deep
Cut LLC. is having a Substitute Water Supply Plan prepared to
replace Valco ' s plan and believes they will be in compliance with
all state and federal laws and regulations governing water and
water rights as they understand them.
Located within the permit area are parts of 2 existing lakes .
The lake areas shown on all maps in this permit packet are post-
1981 water. At this time that amounts to 12 . 65 acres + . The
lake areas south of the permit line were mined prior to 1981 and
have been released from the original permit . This area will not
be disturbed again by mining, however, in the future the land-
owner may do work on their property that is not associated with
the mine . Review of the RECLAMATION TIMETABLE for the estimated
amount of lake surface area that will exist after the mine is
reclaimed.
Review of Map ExhibitC shows that ground water table is approxi-
mately 2 . 5 to 9 feet below the surface in this area. Ground
water is exposed by this operation so a well permit, Substitute
Water Supply Plan and/or Augmentation Plan will be needed for
this facility to cover evaporative losses from the post 1981 lake
areas . The expected post 1981 water surface will be approxi-
mately 18 . 0 acres for the first 18 to 20 years or until the above
water stockpiles have been removed and mining commences on the in
place gravel in the northeast corner .
TABLE G -WATER WELLS WITHIN 200 was prepared from data obtained at the
State Engineers Office . Since no dewatering will take place it
lists the wells within 200 feet of the mined area . Two wells are
listed for the same coordinates but have 2 different names and do
not match the current owner. We suspect they are located on
Daniel L. Lytle' s property and they are listed as domestic wells .
These wells will not be impacted by the mining operation since no
dewatering is planned. The remaining 2 wells are owned by Valco,
Inc . , one is a large commercial well that supplied water for the
concrete batch plant and the second is for the mine .
20
