MINING PLAN EXHIBIT C
Map C-1 shows the general pre-mine conditions of the site.
Map C-2 shows the maximum mine plan excavation(current area of excavation).
Map F shows the final Reclamation Plan.
All maps are included in Appendix A.
1. Site Geology
The bedrock below the gravel is Mancos shale. The gravel deposit is approximately 15 feet thick
with 3 feet of overburden and topsoil. The gravel was transported from the San Juan Mountains
by the Uncompahgre River.
2. Pre-Mining Work
As shown on Map C-2, there are two ponds left from past mining. Since the North Pond has had
successful reclamation, it will not be re-disturbed. The South Pond will not be mined laterally
but may be mined approximately 6 feet deeper along the pond edges by a track hoe excavator
operating along the edges. If this is done, no pit pump will be used and there will be no
discharging to the Uncompahgre River.
3. General Mining Plan
The property boundary has been surveyed on site and the permit area has been surveyed and
marked prior to any additional site disturbance. Map C-2 shows the mining plan. No new mining
will occur that will result in any new water surface area exposed. The only mining that that is
allowed is to mine up to 12 feet below water table in the existing South Pond. No new activity
will take place outside this area.
Olathe Pit, 2018
