9. The slopes of the excavation will be made a 411:1 V slope or flatter. The slopes
will be graded as the excavation proceeds and vertical pit walls will not be
necessary.
10. The dimensions will be as shown on Exhibit E—Mining Plan Map. The pit limits
are rectangular in shape with leg lengths of approximately 1,000 feet long (N— S)
and 650 feet wide (E—W) for an affected area of 15.0 acres within the excavated
area.
11. There will be no depression left after mining operations are completed, no
impoundments or drainage alterations will be left in the reclaimed area.
12. Water will be used within the pit will be for dust control only. The source of this
water will be from the City of Wiggins. Total usage will be approximately 2 acre-
feet.
13. A storm water management plan will be filed with the Colorado Department of
Health to maintain the hydrologic balance.
14. This excavation is into virgin ground. It is not anticipated that any foreign
materials will be encountered. If some were encountered, they would be disposed
of in a manner to prevent unsightliness and protect the drainage system from
pollution, as determined for the specific material.
15. Since the before and after use of the land is rangeland, minimal change will result
to the hydrologic balance, no off-site damage will occur and the slopes and other
general configuration of the land will be more stable for the current and reclaimed
use due to elimination of existing erosion (caused by normal natural wind and
water action over time) in the stable, steeper than 4:1 slopes. No standing water
will be retained longer than 24 hours. In addition, the excavated area will be
mulched to eliminate topsoil erosion.
16. Excavation will be kept above the known ground water elevation since the mining
will be done out of the side of a hill therefore the operation will not require any
type of dewatering.
17. This property is hilly with slopes facing West to North on the East side of the
mining area. It is the intent to excavate the property so as not to allow any runoff
from excavated area and not intersect any natural drainage ways. Adequate
temporary berms (as shown on Exhibit E—Mining Plan Map), will be performed
on the north and west sides of the mining areas to insure runoff water will be
contained in the pit floor. The pit floor material is granular and water will
percolate into the pit floor. Should it become necessary silt fences will be used as
required along with berm maintenance. Runoff from water outside the excavation
area, if necessary, will be diverted to its normal runoff pattern.
