20 March 2018 C-1981-010/Trapper Mine RAR <br /> <br /> <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 8 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3 <br /> <br /> Page 3 of 6 <br /> <br />o The mine site identification sign observed were intact, displaying all required <br />information: mine name, operator name, address, phone number, DRMS permit number <br />and contact information, as were others checked at the site. <br />o Permit boundary markers were checked along the north and west perimeters and found, <br />with a couple of exceptions, to be visible and in good repair. <br />o Blasting notification signs observed were placed according to rule 4.02.6. <br /> <br /> <br />ROADS- Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3) I 4.03.2(3); Drainage 4.03.1(4) I 4.03.2(4); Surfacing and <br />Maintenance 4.03.1(5) and (6) I 4.03.2(5) and (6); Reclamation 4.03.1(7) I 4.03.2(7) <br /> <br />o Main haul roads in and around the site appeared stable and adequately <br />maintained. <br />o Roads were being wa tered. <br />o Access roads were adequately maintained, providing limited accessibility to <br />the site due to either frozen or muddy conditions . <br />o No evidence of offsite impacts were observed. <br /> <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES – Rule 4.04 <br /> <br />o Support facilities, and ash disposal areas were visited. No issues were noted <br />at time of inspection. All facility areas were neat and orderly. <br />o No low spots with the potential to hold water, nor surface cracks were noted <br />in the ash pit. A firm, smooth top surfa ce was evident. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge <br />Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage- Acid and Toxic <br />Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18 <br /> <br />Culverts SA2, SA4A and SA7 were noted from the road to have an ice mass at the <br />discharge end. The following pond systems were observed: Coyote, No Name, <br />Flume and Middle Flume, Oak, Johnson, Pyeatt, some at a distance and were roads <br />were passable, the pond was checked. Numerous ponds appeared ice covered . <br />Banks observed appeared stable. No maintenance issues were noted at the tim e of <br />inspection. <br /> <br />Far East Buzzard held a small amount of water. Coyote Pond held water from <br />snowmelt. NO Name #2 was ice covered. NO Name #5 was discharging clear <br />water. Johnson #10 was discharging and the flume was functioning adequately. <br />Middle Pyeatt #2 and #3 were dry. East Pyeatt #1, 2 and 3 were all holding water. <br />East Pyeatt #3 was discharging clear water . Oak #1 held a small amout of water, <br />Oak #2 held water and was ice covered. Spillway appeared to be functioning <br />adequately. Middle Flume #1 held water and it ’s sign was leaning. M iddle Flume <br />
