As we stated in our previous IIM form submitted 07/05/2017, we have been in frequent
communication with Amy Titterington at the South Platte Ranger District. Our 2017 NOI had
been approved. We have written a new NOI for 2018 which will be sent at the same time as this
form. We are still pending approval, but the NOI is not fundamentally different from the one we
submitted last year. In addition to our normal mining operations, we are designing an
educational class for amateurs and enthusiasts to learn how to be a successful prospector, with
success defined as: follow all laws and regulations, follow leave no trace outdoor ethics, and be
a good steward of the land. And at the end of the day, the successful prospector has and
enjoyable day in the forest, even if they didn't find a single crystal. We feel that the best
description of this class is contained in the Temporary Use Permit and Guide Operating Plan
documents that we submitted to Kristen Kahler at the SPRD. Therefore, copies of these forms
have been included. These classes are not a normal part of our mining operations, and we are
still awaiting their approval, after SPRD receives our NOI, and our class curriculum, which we
are currently working on.
Even if the proposed classes are approved, our reclamation plan is the same: Active
disturbances will remain in the 600-800 square foot area. These areas will be backfilled to
original grade using hand work, if they become non productive. Any and all other holes including
exploration holes are backfilled immediately. This plan of continual reclamation, and minimal
intrusion, will be an integral part of our educational classes. We do not expect a significant
increase in surface disturbance from conducting the classes, as students will be instructed to
work in our existing, active excavations.
We feel that our continued contact with SPRD, and our approved NOI is enough to ensure our
reclamation plans are sound and carried out properly. Amy has stated that she will review our
disturbances annually. However, we will do anything else that is required to secure our permits
for mining/exploration and reclamation.
15. We have no other permits other than our filing for the lode mining claim with the Bureau of
Land Management and with the Douglas County Clerk and Recorder.
16. There are no state/federal/local agency participants in terms of funding and design.
17. We will have no post mining uses of the land. We will make all efforts to return it to pristine
National Forest land.
18. We currently have no heavy equipment use on this site.
