We made a rather large error in our stated
area of surface disturbance on our previously submitted form. Our actual surface disturbance is,
and will always be, much smaller than we had previously thought.
1. Devil May Care Lode Claim CIVIC#288288 SW'/Section 16 and NW%Section 21,
Township 9 South, Range 69 West, 6th PM, Douglas County, Colorado. It is 21 miles by road to
Sedalia, CO to the Northeast.
2. The site of material extraction is public property, within the Pike National Forest.
3. We propose to extract crystals of quartz and smoky quartz, amazonite, clevelandite, feldspar,
goethite, hematite, topaz, fluorite, and valuable crystals of any mineral species which can be
found within the Pikes Peak Batholith. The site consists of rolling to steep forested hills, with
large boulders interspersed. There is a small mostly seasonal natural stream on the north end of
the claim area.
4. All cleaning and processing of extracted minerals occurs off site. Extraction is currently by
handwork only utilizing shovels, picks, hammers, chisels, gads, and other such hand tools.
5. The extracted material will be hauled off site.
6. There is no use of the extracted material on site.
7. The material will be hauled by foot in backpacks to the operator's vehicles parked in
designated spots along Rampart Range Road. The intended use for the material is to be
primarily sold as mineral specimens, and to be used as cutting rough for cut stones, or as parts
of other created items for sale.
8. The proposed area of extraction will be small pits in various areas within the entire 20 acre
claim. The claimed area has numerous historic pits and trenches which existed before we filed
the claim, which will be explored for crystals, and reclaimed if they are not productive.
Occasional small exploration pits will be dug in various areas of the claim, and are immediately
reclaimed if they are not productive. Most of our work is in active excavations, which total
