Lost Creek Mining does not currently utilize any stock animals in any of its operations. <br /> G. Bears <br /> The permittee and staff will familiarize themselves with "Living with Wildlife in Bear Country," a <br /> Colorado Division of Wildlife publication. <br /> 1. Keep your camp clean. <br /> 2. Store food and toiletries safely. <br /> 3. Sleep away from food areas. <br /> H. Wilderness <br /> 1. If you are permitted to operate in Wilderness: <br /> 2. Special regulations apply in Wilderness. Ensure your staff has a copy of the specific <br /> Wilderness Special Order and follows the regulations. <br /> I. Cultural Resources <br /> Do not disturb or remove any historical or archaeological sites or artifacts. <br /> VII. SAFETY <br /> A. Hazard Identification (Please circle all hazards that apply to your operations) <br /> Environment/Weather <br /> Terrain <br /> Food/Water <br /> Lost Clients <br /> Fire <br /> Other (Mining Tools) <br /> B. Hazard Mitigation <br /> Describe the preventative actions needed addressing the above identified hazards. A discussion <br /> of safety in general, as well as specific hazards and how they will be avoided or dealt with, must <br /> be provided to all clients. <br /> All of these hazards will be understood and mitigated by each student , as they are <br /> communicated through the required Student Agreement/Waiver and Release of Liability form. <br /> Environment/Weather: Each student will be required to wear proper clothing and footwear, as <br /> well as provide adequate warm clothing and rain protection. Emergency rain protection will be <br /> carried and provided by Lost Creek Mining, LLC as needed. Students will be required to drop <br /> tools and move to safe natural rock shelter areas in the event of thunderstorms. <br /> Lost Clients: Clients are advised and never allowed to leave the sight of the instructor. Readily <br /> recognizable areas of operation are indicated to all students. Emergency whistles will be <br /> provided to all students. Terrain: Students will be right next to the guide and lead through rough <br /> terrain. Students are not allowed to wander on their own at all, and will be assisted across the <br /> roughest terrain. Proper footwear and long pants, are required for each student, to mitigate <br /> terrain hazards. <br /> Food/Water: Food and water for more than just that day are required to be carried by each <br /> student. However, Lost Creek Mining, LLC will carry emergency food in case it is needed, and a <br /> filter to provide fresh water if needed. <br />
