There exists <br />an NPDES discharge point on this pond. To remove this discharge point from the <br />permit a request should be directed to CDPHE. <br />o The current NPDES permit is in administrative extension. <br />o There is one flowing spoil spring that undergoes regular monitoring. <br /> <br />TOPSOIL -Rule 4.06 <br />Removal4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4: <br /> <br />o Many small topsoil piles exist throughout the site, and will be used in the reclamation <br />activities to achieve approximate original contour. <br /> <br />EXPLOSIVES <br /> <br />o In order to bring down the silo, it was drilled with 1700 holes and each hole loaded <br />with 0.5 lbs. of explosive material and then sealed with foam. <br />o Both north and south bound traffic on Colorado State Highway 13 were closed to <br />traffic. <br />o A three minute blast notification was sounded followed by a one minute blast <br />notification. <br />o The blast was executed and the silo fell as per photos below. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
