Albert Frei and Sons, Inc. Priola Pit
M-2007-087-Adequacy Response#1 April 5, 2018
3 . Please revise the reclamation plan map to indicate or depict
the dirt piles will not remain on the site after reclamation?
Thank you for point this, the Reclamation Plan Map has been corrected and the piles were
removed. Note that the mound of material just north of the entrance is material that was
there prior to mining and was never redisturbed. The landowner uses it for advertising
signs so it will remain. Along its west side it will has been graded 3:1 or less, along the
access road it is left in its natural state to preserve the road.
4 . The cover letter with TR02 indicates the landowner is using a
section in the northeast corner of the site as a slurry dump
and AFS will not be responsible for reclaiming this area . AFS
is required to reclaim the affected lane (which includes tree
slurry pile/dump area within the permit boundary) in
accordance with Rule 3 . 1 and C.R.S . 34-32 . 5-116 . It is AFS
responsibility to work with the landowner to insure they can
complete reclamation in accordance with the reclamation plan.
Please revise the reclamation plan map to remove the
delineation of the slurry dump/piles .
The map has been revised to show this area as reclaimed consistent with the proposes
resoiling and revegetation plan. The slopes in the area will be graded 3h to 1 or less ,
resoiled and seeded. As the Division knows the landowner (CAP Land) allows a third
party to use this corner of the permit area (Landowner Use Area) and they do not
communicate with Albert Frei and Sons. They have used to area to dump slurry from their
daylight pumping operation, equipment parking and material storage.
1 hope these responses have addressed the adequacy questions you
presented. If you have any questions please call .
List of attachments to this response :
Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan (revised)
Sincerely,
Environment, Inc .
Stevan L.
