Plan
CC&V proposes the installation of two monitoring wells within Poverty Gulch to monitor groundwater
quality(PGMW-3 and PGMW-4). During the November discussion with DRMS,it was requested that
cross-sections be presented to evaluate the geology of the area for the proposed monitoring well locations.
Figure 4 depicts the orientation of cross-sections presented for the proposed wells.Figure 5 presents the
cross-section for PGMW-3.Figure 6 presents the cross-section for PGMW-4.
As outlined in Amendment 9,the monitoring wells will be drilled to bedrock. The locations of these
wells are subject to possible minor change based on test hole drilling results. Coordinates of final
monitoring well locations will be provided to DRMS after construction is complete.
Schedule
Construction of drill pads using internal resources is anticipated to begin by early Q3. CC&V will submit
necessary notices of intent before test hole drilling is to commence. Drilling contractors will perform test
hole drilling and monitor well completions. Initiation of test hole drilling is anticipated to begin in Q3.
It is anticipated that monitor wells will be four inch polyvinyl chloride completions with dedicated
equipment installed for sample collection. CC&V anticipates completion of the monitor wells within
Poverty Gulch in Q3 2018.
Financial Warranty
CC&V used Newmont hole abandonment costs to calculate the increase in reclamation warranty held
with the State of Colorado. The cost to properly abandon each monitor well is$1,896.50 for a total
warranty increase of$3,739.
Enclosed please find check no. 200033980 in the amount of$1,006 for the technical revision fee.
