In 2000,
CC&V drilled and constructed Poverty Gulch monitoring wells PGMW-IA and PGMW-1B (Figure 2).
Water samples were collected from these wells from March of 2000 through July of 2001. In 2001 these
monitoring wells were abandoned and monitoring well PGMW-2 was constructed(Figure 2). PGMW-2
is a four inch completion with a total depth of 219 feet and a screened interval from 189 to 219 feet.
When constructed, the well did not intercept water and has been continually monitored as a CC&V
groundwater monitoring compliance location since 2001. Throughout monitoring,PGMW-2 has
remained dry.
During an internal review,CC&V identified a commitment to install two additional monitoring wells
within Poverty Gulch; PGMW-3 &PGMW-4(Figure 3). This commitment was identified within the
Amendment 9 final adequacy response dated October 15,2008. CC&V met with DRMS on November
28,2017 to discuss the commitment and propose potential locations for construction of the new wells.
From the discussion,it was identified that the new monitoring wells should be constructed within the
alluvium of Poverty Gulch outside of the identified diatreme boundary.
