(4) Ponds, Impoundments and Diversions <br />(a) General. <br />(i) Each general plan shall: <br />(A) The maps, plans and cross sections for the loadout <br />and stockpile ponds were prepared by or under the <br />direction of and certified by Matthew Sakurada, P.E., a <br />qualified professional engineer with engineering <br />experience in the design and construction of <br />sedimentation ponds, excess spoil and underground <br />development waste facilities. Mr. Sakurada holds a <br />B.S. and M.E. in Civil Engineering and is registered in <br />the State of Colorado, P.E. Number 15836. Mr. <br />Sakurada was assisted by Charles Leaf, PhD., P.E., a <br />consulting hydrologic engineer, and Geo -Hydro <br />Consulting, Inc. <br />O(B) Descriptions and maps are presented in Exhibit 8 <br />Protection of the Hydrologic Balance. A sediment <br />pond is provided for mine drainage from the disturbed <br />areas associated with the conveyors, silos and unit <br />train loadout. Details of this pond are found in Exhibit <br />8 and on Map 11. This pond is located to the north <br />and west of the train loadout building. It is located in <br />the northwest corner of SW14SE14 of Section 29, <br />T.13.S, R.91.W. 6th P.M. <br />The sedimentation pond dam was constructed using <br />conventional steel bin wall construction. The bin walls <br />are backfilled and utilize a reinforced concrete spillway <br />and spillway apron. Plans, Specifications and as <br />constructed surveys are contained in Exhibit 8 <br />Protection of the Hydrologic Balance. See Map 11. <br />The dam was constructed from April, 1979 through <br />.tune, 1979. <br />RN -07 2.05-17 02118 <br />
