These disturbances and facilities were used for over
twenty years to provide a method to ship commercial
quantities of prepared coal to the national and
international steam coal market.
Reclamation Status: The disturbances associated with
the trail loadout facilities have not been reclaimed.
5, Truck Scales
These truck scales are located on an isolated one-way
entrance road. The scale bed is located on the
roadway with all mechanical features below grade.
The scale bed is accompanied by a small 15 foot long
by 10 feet wide by 8 foot high steel clad building which
0 houses the scale instrumentation and recorders.
These truck scales were installed during the summer of
1981 so incoming coal trucks could be weighed. In
addition an access ramp was constructed from State
Highway 133 to the truck scales and to the truck dump
area. Topsoil was excavated for the scales, and the
access road. Drainage from the area is directed to the
railroad spur drainage and flows downgrade to the train
loadout sediment pond. The Operator has approval to
improve the entrance to the truck scale. The haul road
will be widened so trucks can bypass the scales to the
south and east and proceed to the truck dump without
crossing the scales. Topsoil will be excavated from the
new disturbed area and stockpiled in the area shown
on Map 7.
Reclamation Status: The truck scales have not been
removed from site.
RN -07 2.05-7 02118
