The ditches were free from debris. A sma ll amount of <br />water from snowmelt was flowing during the inspection. The culverts along the haul road were clear of debris at <br />the inlets and outlets. <br /> <br />PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES – Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br />Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br /> Access to Gob Piles 1, 2, 3 and 4 was limited due to the road conditions. All of the Gob piles were <br />inspected from vantage points throughout the facilities area. Gob Piles 1, 2 and 4 have been keyed together and <br />are generally refered to as Gob Pile 2. Gob Pile 2 was stable. There was a small amount of snow on the gob pile. <br />Volunteer vegetation has grown in well on the sections of the pile covered with subsoil. These areas had no <br />observed signs of erosion. The section containing Gob Pile 4 has been covered with topsoil and seeded for <br />multiple years. This section was well vegetated. Gob Pile 3 is located to the s outhwest of Pile 2. Gob Pile 3 was <br />stable with no indications of erosion. Work on pile 3 will resume in the spring when conditions are drier. <br /> <br />ROADS – Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) <br />Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) <br />Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) <br />Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br /> The haul road at the Bowie No. 2 Mine consists of a paved portion and an un -paved portion. The paved <br />portion starts at the D Portals bench and goes to the wash plant. This section of t he road was dry and in good <br />repair. There were no erosional issues noted. The ditches were clear of debris and functioning as designed. The <br />un-paved portion of the haul road continues from the wash plant to the top of Gob Pile 2. This section of the ro ad <br />was soft and muddy. These conditions are common for this section of the road during this time of year. The road <br />was in good repair and there was a minimal amount of ruts. There were no erosional features identified. The top <br />of Gob Pile 2 was not able to be accessed due to the conditions. Access roads at the mine site were in similar <br />condition to the un-paved portion of the haul road. There were no signs of instability or erosion. <br />
