To: Jared Ebert
Date: February 14, 2018
Page 17
b. If LRM intends to dispose of any rubble generated by the demolition of mine
related structures onsite, they will need to identify where this material will be
placed.
c. Please provide the quantity of each item to be demolished. Below is a table
identifying the type of structure to be demolished and the unit of measure the
Division needs to estimate the cost to demolish the structure:
Item Unit of Measure
Building&Similar Structures Cubic Feet(L x W x H)of intact Structure
Process Plants &Mill Building Cubic Feet(L x W x H)of intact Structure
Floors, Slabs &Pavement Square feet(L x W) + estimated thickness
in inches
Footing&Foundations Linear feet+ estimated footer width and
height.
Walls Square feet(L x H) +estimated thickness
in inches.
Conveyors (portable)Dimensions (L, W, H)
Conveyors (non-portable) Cubic Feet(L x W x H)
Storage tanks(aboveground) Gallons
Storage tanks(underground) Gallons
Powerlines Liner Feet
d. Mining at the site will expose groundwater. Given this, the Division needs to
hold a bond to cover the cost of either backfilling the pit to a point above the
water table or a cost to isolate the pit from groundwater inflow by either
installing a clay liner or slurry wall. Given LRM's choice of the installation of
a clay liner as part of the proposed mining and reclamation plan, please
provide the information necessary to conduct an estimate of the cost for the
installation of the proposed clay liner assuming mining stops at the end of
Phase II. This cost should include the cost for placing and compacting the
clay material in lifts and for quality control measurements to insure the clay
material is installed at the proper compaction specification. Since the
material to construct the liner is found onsite, please also include a cost of
excavating the necessary material.
e. Please provide the information necessary to calculate the cost of the
installation of the French Drain and riser system.
f Please provide the anticipated maximum length of highwall to be in place at
any given time during mining of Phase I and II. Please provide an estimate of
the volume needed to grade this highwall to the proposed 3H::1 V slope.
g. Please provide a basis for the pit pumpdown costs.
h. Please provide an estimate of the volume of topsoil to be replaced.
Response to DRMS Adequacy Review 3 comments T E L E S T O
