February 8, 2018 C-1982-056/Foidel Creek Mine TNL <br /> <br /> <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 6 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2 <br /> <br /> Page 4 of 6 <br /> <br />pipelines. Multiple Beaver Dams were previously noted along Foidel Creek, which did not appear to be causing an <br />issue at the time of this inspection. This should be monitored by the mine to avoid flooding and any resulting <br />contamination. <br /> <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE: <br /> Longwall was in the process of a move at the time of inspection. Coal was being trucked to the wash plant <br />from the Williams Fork Mine which is currently in reclamation. <br />New Items from February inspection: <br /> Clear Culverts as conditions allow <br />Items from November inspection: <br /> Please place additional stream buffer zone signs east of the barrels denoting the buffer zone near the train <br />load out to show extent of buffer zone more clearly along the tracks <br /> Culvert F-4(A); the end of this culvert and crushed and needs to be repaired <br />Outstanding Maintenance items from previous inspections: <br /> Ditch D-4 along road into portal needs to be cleaned and re-established <br /> Pond E cattails around outlet need to be cleared <br /> Pond E delta at inlet needs to be cleaned out <br /> Ditch E, at the substation needs to be re-stablished and the culvert found or the drainage map updated <br /> Culvert B2 at wash plant will need additional maintenance. Inlet needs to be cleared. <br /> 5MN pad needs additional vegetation established and silt fence maintenance and/or waddles repaired <br /> 7N Escape shaft pad: An erosional gully has formed near the pad entrance and will require maintenance, <br />silt fence repair and seeded will be needed at this site. This was discussed with the operator to be done in <br />the fall. <br /> Fish Creek borehole pad needs additional clean up and the berm reestablish or other additional sediment <br />structures put in place (picture below). <br /> Additional disturbance markers should be placed in the area of the 9E Utility Borehole <br /> Vegetation is spare at the 9E Utility Borehole and will need to be seeded. <br />The Foidel Creek School House does not appear to be affected by the mining operation. Waste pile was observed <br />with no issues noted. No ponding on the third lift was present. <br /> <br />DOCUMENTS RECEIVED <br />Annual Impoundment inspection reports, signed by PE, Fourth Quarter 2017 pond inspections
