Please update the Exhibit C maps to depict the Taylor and Gill Ditch and the Little
Cache La Poudre lateral ditch. Please show the name of the owner of the ditch and
lateral.
Response 1
The Exhibit C (Attachment 1) maps have been updated to show the Taylor and Gill Ditch
and the Little Cache la Poudre lateral ditch along with the names of the owners.
RULE 6.4.4 EXHIBIT D - PRE-MINING AND RULE 6.4.5, EXHIBIT
E - RECLAMATION PLAN
Comment 2
2. The mining plan and reclamation plan does not appear to take into account the
location of the Taylor and Gill Ditch and the lateral ditch. Please revise the mining
and reclamation plan as necessary to account for these structures. Please indicate
how these structure will be protected from damage during the mining operation.
Response 2
The Exhibit C (Attachment 1) maps have been updated to show the Taylor and Gill Ditch
and the Little Cache la Poudre lateral ditch. The ditches will be protected from damage
during the mining operations by a 50-foot offset between the highwall and the structure.
See comments previously made in this letter for more details.
Comment 3
3. The Taylor and Gil Ditch and the lateral ditch do not appear to be lined. Please
explain how water losses from the ditches will be prevented, monitored and/or
mitigated.
Response 3
The Little Cache Ditch is not lined through the site. However, the ditch company
performed a leakage analysis (measuring inflow and outflow up and down gradient of the
site) recently and they have indicated that the ditch leaks very little through this section,
indicating that natural siltation has likely sealed up the ditch. The Taylor and Gill ditch is
sealed on the west side of the site as it is conveyed through concrete sewer pipe.
Response to DRAM comments T E L E S T
