The inspection was <br />completed by Clayton Wein of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (the Division). There was no <br />company representative from Bowie Resources, LLC (BRL) present for the inspection. The weather was clear <br />with a temperature of 40 degrees farenheight. The ground conditions were dry. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> Six of the ponds at the Bowie No. 1 Mine were reclaimed in August and October of 2017. Reclamation <br />work in August included; backfilling, regrading and drainage reestablishment. Seeding was completed in October. <br />Details on each s ite are included below : <br /> <br />- Binwall Pond 1 (Photo 1): <br /> The regraded slopes at the site were stable. There were no indications of erosion. The straw mulch placed on <br />the hill slopes was in good condition and the rocks placed on top of the mulch were wor king well to help stabilize <br />the mat. The reestablished drainage channel had evidence of flows since the work was completed. There was not <br />any water in the channel at the time of the inspection. The channel was stable and there were no signs of down - <br />cutting or erosion along the banks. <br /> <br />- Binwall Pond 2: <br /> The regraded slopes at Binwall Pond 2 were in good condition and stable. There were no erosional features <br />observed. The straw mulch on the regraded hill slopes was stable and still in place. The rocks on top of the mulch <br />were working well to help stabilize the straw. The reestablished drainage channel was in good repair. There was <br />evidence of flows in the channel since the reestablishment work was completed; however, the channel was dry at <br />the time of the inspection. There was no down -cutting obser ved or any erosion on the banks. <br />
