The inspection was <br />completed by Clayton Wein of the Division of Reclamat ion, Mining and Safety (the Division). Bill Bear of Bowie <br />Resources, LLC (BRL) was present for the inspection. The weather was clear with a temperature of 55 degrees <br />farenheight. The ground conditions were dry. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS – Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> The records for the Bowie No. 2 Mine are located at the mine office. The records were in good condition <br />and well kept. For more details, please see the Availability of Records form attached to the end of this report. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> There are six ponds located at the Bowie No. 2 Mine; Pond B, Pond C, Pond D (Photo 1), Pond F (Photo <br />2), Pond J and Pond K. Ponds B, C, F and J were holding a small amount of w ater. The embankments to the <br />ponds were well vegetated and stable. There were no erosional features identified. No discharge was occurring <br />from the ponds. Ponds D and k were not holding any water. The ponds embankments were stable and had well <br />established vegetation on them. There were no indications of erosion. <br /> <br />There are diversion ditches that parallel the haul road. During the inspection the diversion ditches were clear from <br />debris and functioning as designed. There was a minimal amount of flow in the ditches at the time of the <br />inspection. The culverts along the haul road were in good condition and there were no blockages observed. <br /> <br />Culverts on the Utility Bench (Photo 3), B Portals Bench and the D Portals Bench (Photo 4) were visited. The <br />culverts wee clear of debris and capable of functioning as designed. <br />
