incorporating changes that are a result of a 2014 groundwater monitoring well rehabilitation project. The <br />revision also initially included a justification for the removal of a requirement to construct groundwater <br />point of compliance wells; however, due to the idle status of the Bowie No. 2 Mine approved monitoring <br />well 2010 -IB and monitoring well 2010 -ISS will continue to serve as point of compliance wells at the <br />Bowie No. 2 Mine. <br />Technical Revision No. 100 was received on March 31, 2015, deemed incomplete on April 8, 2015, <br />complete on May 18, 2015, and approved on June 8, 2015. The revision proposed to revise the approved <br />mine plan and sequence for the twelve northern longwall panels. Longwall mining was revised to mine in <br />the eastern panels from the south to north and then the western panels from north to south. Longw allpanels <br />B-22 and B-23 and the affected areas associated with these panels were proposed to be removed. <br />Technical Revision No. 101 was received on April 27, 2015, deemed complete on May 7, 2015, and <br />approved on June 8, 2015. The revision proposed to incorporate a vegetation report into the Bowie No. 2 <br />Mine permit. The revision also included a soil loss comparison for 77 gob vent bore holes and associated <br />roads located east of Terror Creek. The revision represented the incorporation of reporting into the permit <br />application package and did not change the reclamation liability or affected area of the Bowie No. 2 Mine. <br />Technical Revision No. 102 was received on May 13, 2015, deemed complete on May 22, 2015, and <br />approved on July 14, 2015. The revision provided an update to the Bowie No. 2 Mine's drainage and <br />sediment control system based on on -ground conditions. The updates included: revised Map 20 with the <br />accurate location of culvert C-16, an update and design to identify a ditch rather than culvert C-18, and a <br />new ditch design for ditch B-38. <br />Technical Revision No. 103 was received on May 19, 2015, deemed complete on May 29, 2015, and <br />approved on August 19, 2015. The revision proposed to temporarily suspend 23 hydrologic monitoring <br />points that will not be affected by mining until 2018 or later. The revision also requested the permanent <br />suspension of 15 monitoring points that are no longer considered necessary due to the installation of <br />replacement wells or data from the sites is not relevant to the Bowie No. 2 Mine. <br />Technical Revision No. 104 was received on August 4, 2015, deemed complete on August 11, 2015, and <br />approved on September 25, 2015. The revision proposed to revise pages 2.05-45i through 2.05-45x to <br />include a list of drill sites that are stable based on the criteria approved in the permit application package <br />page 2.05-43i. A stable drill site is one in which sediment control measures are no longer needed. <br />Technical Revision No. 105 was received on October 16, 2015, deemed complete on October 26, 2016, and <br />approved on December 23, 2015. The revision proposed to expand the approved Gob Pile #3 to the east <br />The area proposed for the expansion was approximately 2.3 acres and serves as the drying area for Gob <br />Pile #3 and was within the approved disturbed area boundary. <br />Technical Revision No. 106 was received on February 12, 2016, deemed complete on February 22, 2016, <br />and approved on March 17, 2016. The revision proposed to incorporate a new Colorado Department of <br />Transportation permit for crossing the Bowie Road with the Bowie No. 2 Mine facilities road and includes <br />a plan for repairing the Bowie Road at the same intersection. <br />Technical Revision No. 107 was received on April 19, 2016, deemed complete on April 28, 2016, and <br />approved on May 31, 2016. The revision proposed to temporarily suspend monitoring of thirteen surface <br />water monitoring locations, monitoring points SP5-3, SP5-4, P5-5, EPH-1 through EPH-9, and spring 6-7. <br />The water monitoring stations are located in areas which have not been affected by mining and will not be <br />affected by mining in the foreseeable future.
