From Overland Trail to Taft Hill Roars is nothing but pits.
All along Taft Hill IZowl from 54G to the concrete plant is nothing but pits whin plans for more along H%%y 287. 'There is
also a huge concrete plcult on 'fait Hill Road not that lair from our community flint leas beth belching out toxins for years
holy {villi 110 sib9is ol'stopping. We must deal with all this air pollution, the trucks and gravel on rile road, and the 110ise but
we understand the need for aggegatc :uld have not complained but this new Knox I it :uxl batch plant are lar too close to
our community and will greatly impact our llcaldi, happiness mid property w,dULS.
The batch plaint is unacceptable in this area. It would continue long alter lie aggregate is dug up From rile area and there are
no compromises Willi iL As for the pits we would have some conditions such as the follolwing:
1. No digging within 100 ft of residents and 50ft from 54G.
2. Pits must have a 10:1 or 15:1 grade or filled completely in.
3. land must be dedicated to LaPorte as an open area overseen and managed by a LaPorte area board.
4. A line of Cottonwoods, a line of Colorado Blue Spruce, or similar evergreen, and a line of bushes must be planted
along the residential and 54G sides of the pits. These trees must be watered and cared for by Loveland Ready
Mix until they can survive on their own and any that die must be replaced.
5. Aggregate may be extracted only form October 1511' to March 151h
6. Again NO BATCH PLANT at all, period
LaPorte is a rural community. Range land is being destroyed daily for alcly subcfiwisioras, avidcr roads, aul(l commercial
development, Thcrc is a groieing waist and aced for grass feed co%vs of %%-Ilicll [leis laul(I currently serves. The grass is rich
:incl green wills a ditch running through it so it can be watered in the (fry limes it is rile perfect place for these cows. Itis a
place of beauty and calm, one of l'cw left in the arca.
H«y 287 used to pass through LaPorte but with die increase of traallic it mals (Ictcrmuied that to preserve LaPorte dicy would
need to move it around LaPorte olid thus 287 ivas divcrted to preserve our community. This pit will do just the opposite.
All the positive changes being clone in our community %will be greatly all'ected by this heavy industryat our doorstep.
Younger peoplc arc replacing diose drat had Iived here all their lives, there are more children and die businesses have
chwiged from beat -up bars to music venues alld collet community shops. Please do not allow lie Knox Pit to destroy idle
oldest community in Luimcr County.
My hcaltll has already been compromised over this pit/batch plant. The stress of what I will do if tic plant aal(1 pit are
approved is making me sick already. I cannot alrord to move in the current real estate market and rile value of my home
will be depreciated 20-30% i6di tic pit/batch plaint. I will not be able to use my yard wad will. be forced to spend all my
summer in a sealed of cabin sized house. It has me very depressed, unable to sleep or concentrate.
Sincerely,
Christine Bebow, 2903 N. Ovcrlauul'rr. LaPorte, CO 80535 (mail PO BOX 845)
