Bill Bear
Page 2
11/9/2017
Rule 2.05.6(6)(c)(1)(F) — The Division requires that subsidence monitoring program continue
beyond the cessation of mining operations. The subsidence monitoring conducted by Cragg
Surveying meets these requirements. There was no visual monitoring of modern and known
historic landslides during the 2016 calendar year. Though mining operations may have
been in cessation in 2016, subsidence can still occur. Please ensure to continue to monitor
the modern and known historic landslides for as long as subsidence monitoring is required.
If there is evidence that these landslides have not changed over the course of multiple years,
BRL may send the Division a TR application to have the landslide inspections reduced.
The Division has no further comments. This concludes the review of the 2016 1" and 2°d Half
Subsidence Reports for the Bowie No. 2 Mine.
