Box 1488 <br />Paonia, CO 81428 <br />RE: Bowie No. 2 Mine, Permit No. C-1996-083 <br />2016 First and Second Half Subsidence Reports Review <br />Dear Mr. Bear, <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (the Division) received the lst half 2016 <br />Subsidence Monitoring report on July 5th, 2016 and the 2nd half 2016 report on March 8, 2017. <br />The Division finds that the reports are in compliance with the requirement to file semi-annual <br />monitoring reports. The Division has the following comments, please note comments in Bold <br />text: <br />1s1 Half of 2016 Subsidence Monitoring Report <br />1. There were no impacts to any of the monitored ponds or springs during the 151 half of <br />2016. No mining activity occurred during this time period. <br />2. Subsidence monitoring stations are located along the Pitkin Mesa Pipeline and the Terror <br />Creek transmission tower. Both Iocations were surveyed during the monitoring period <br />and identified no significant changes. Monitoring station PL -11 recorded a slight <br />increase, 0.05 feet, and monitoring station PL -12 recorded a slight increase of 0.04 feet. <br />2°1 Half of 2016 Subsidence Monitoring Report <br />1. There were no impacts to monitored ponds or springs during the 2nd half of 2016. The <br />report noted that no mining activity occurred during this time period. <br />2.
