3. Ground Water <br /> During the mining of the alluvium,the ground water roughly five to eight feet below the surface <br /> will be exposed. This exposure will be limited, since pit dewatering will quickly move it back into <br /> the river directly. However,the exposure of this ground water and the pit dewatering will both <br /> necessitate a water rights plan for the life of the operation. Such a plan will be in place with the <br /> Colorado Division of Water Resource prior to the exposure of ground water on site. <br /> Nearby wells that have been identified are located on Map C-1, as best as possible using mapping <br /> data from the Colorado Division of Water Resources. Six wells have been located within 600 feet <br /> of the new mining pit. Several of these wells are controlled by United or their partners. In the event <br /> that any impact is detected by the well owners, United will work with them to restore full function <br /> of said wells. <br /> 4. Water Consumption for the Operation <br /> Water will be used in the following manner at the Ready Mix Pit: <br /> Table G-1 Mining Water Consumption <br /> Annual Water Usage <br /> Dust control 2.5 Ac-ft <br /> Crushing and Screening 1.0 Ac-ft <br /> Asphalt Plan 0.3 Ac-ft <br /> Pond Evaporationz 104.2 Ac-ft <br /> Total 108.0 Ac-ft <br /> 2 Based on roughly 40 inches/year of evaporation from NOAA Technical Report NWS 33.Applied over 31.3 acres of <br /> reclaimed pond. <br /> Ready Mix Pit October 2017 G-2 :.tv I awrn Id and 15311fialtR PI 1 t <br />
