allows dewatering operations to intercept the ground water before it can interact with the disturbed
areas of the site. Details regarding water handling can be found in Exhibit G.
The dewatering pump will be moved during the mine's life, but will typically be in the southeast
most corner. The water will be directly pumped into the old pond to the east. The new mining pit
will not discharge to any area drainage or stream.
6. Schedule of Operations
The Ready Mix Pit will operate from 6 am to 7 pm Monday through Saturday. No regular nighttime
activities are anticipated unless a special CDOT, FAA, other governmental entity or municipal
project would be beneficial for working at night. Equipment repair or maintenance may be
conducted at night, but all lighting will be kept to a minimum and directed inward and downward.
7. Gunnison County Impacts and Environment Impacts
Impacts to local infrastructure will be the same as they are currently, as this amendment is only an
expansion of the pits resource, not an expansion of its operation.
Environmental impacts include air, water, and noise. United will obtain, and comply with, all
required permits and laws related to these environmental impacts.
8. Import Materials
The pit may accept concrete and asphalt materials that have been removed from other sites in order
that they can be recycled through the plants on site. Fill material may also be accepted into the mine
site to be either spread out on the mined out pit floor for final landscaping or possibly crushed to be
resold as construction material.. Any fill material accepted by the Operator will be inspected to
ensure that all material brought to the site is inert and has no toxic or acid forming material above
acceptable limits.
Ready Mix Pit October 2017 D- 3 Gres Lewidu ad nreeab.ew A:
