The battery bank is due for replacement. CC&V conducted a <br /> trade-off comparison of replacing the current system with line power. With the approval of TR#88, <br /> CC&V and Black Hills Energy(BHE)recently installed a 13.2 kV transmission line to within 1,500 feet <br /> of the tower site(Figure 1). The trade-off comparison indicates that line power would be the best option <br /> for this project from a financial and environmental perspective. <br /> This powerline is an"unregulated"line owned by Black Hills Energy and is fed from the Cripple Creek <br /> substation.This three phase, 13.2 kV powerline terminates at CC&V's Ironclad facilities;therefore the <br /> only customer affected by this change is CC&V. <br />
