Application for Succession of Operators October 2017 <br /> Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), treating primarily copper, zinc, and cadmium. <br /> Construction of the 1,200 gal per minute water treatment plant facility was completed in a <br /> three-week period; <br /> • On-going 24-hour operations of the water treatment plant has been performed by AEG <br /> since construction completion in September 2015. <br /> Barite Hill—US Environmental Protection Agency—McCormick, South Carolina <br /> AEG performed an emergency response project with CMC and TN& Associates for the US EPA <br /> at the Barite Hill mine, near McCormick, South Carolina. AEG's scope of work focused on <br /> treatment of highly acidic pit lake water to allow for discharge to the environment. More <br /> specifically, this included: <br /> • Design and implementation of a combination lime addition and insitu biological treatment <br /> for treatment of acidic, metal laden pit lake water. This included treatment of over 75 <br /> million gallons of water within 6 months to meet site discharge standards,including below <br /> analytical detection limits of As, Cd, Cu and Zn. <br /> • Development of Operations & Maintenance strategy for reclaimed areas and pit lake with <br /> US Bureau of Reclamation(BOR) staff. <br /> • Conducted 2-year post-response Operations & Maintenance contract for pit lake, spillway <br /> and reclaimed areas. <br /> AEG Qualifications <br /> The following technical team is proposed for the management of the site and the execution of the <br /> remaining reclamation/remediation projects— <br /> • Project Director—Jim Harrington <br /> • Senior Project Manager—Billy Ray <br /> For continuity and management of the site's health physics and radiation protection programs, it <br /> is envisioned that some of the current Cotter employees will make the transition and join the AEG <br /> management team. The Radiation Safety Officer is currently a Cotter employee.
