The samples will be tested for environmental, mining and processing purposes. 2.3 Phase 2 Scope of Work: Tasks 5 - 7 Phase 2 construction activities will be completed following submittal of a second work plan and engineering design for DBMS review and approval. The design will include as -built conditions from Phase 1 activities. A geological engineering assessment of current conditions following the Phase 1 work will be performed and will include the following components: • Mitigation of conditions that may affect the final stability of the highwall above the portal; • Mitigation of conditions that led to portal collapse; and, • Corrective action plan. Geotechnical information will be provided in the Phase 2 design including the following: • Existing bench test boring logs, which were drilled in January 2012 on the May Day No. 1 bench (Figure 5); and, • Laboratory tests including moisture content, dry density, strength, classification, grain - size distribution, and compaction. These laboratory tests are currently underway and will be reported in the Phase 2 design document. The Phase 2 design will include the necessary components required for long-term stabilization of the May Day No. 1 Portal area. This will facilitate rehabilitation of the adit, as necessary, to achieve safe access to the stope located approximately 800 to 1,000 feet within the alit. from the stope accessed by the May Day No. 1 Portal will be Removal and testing of rock/ore performed as described in Section 1.0 above, or in accordance with the DBMS -approved Phase 2 design.
